Chapter 3
Jesus said - "I Am"

~~~~~~~~
10. "I Am" the First and the Last
"And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, "Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last."
"I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death."
(Revelation 1:17-18)
Yes, Jesus came in to this world and though He was from the beginning, He lived among us and died on our behalf. But He is no more a dead person. Death or grave could not hold Him. On the third day, He rose up gloriously from the dead and He lives forever and forever. He is having authority over death and Hades. He is the First and the Last. No one was before Him and no one is going to come after Him. He is the very God of very God.
11. "I Am" He
When Moses asked the name of God then God said to Moses in Exodus 3:14, "I AM WHO I AM." And He said, "Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, 'I AM has sent me to you.'"
That is the same name Which Jehovah used in Exodus 3:14 and the same name Jesus said in John 8:24, "Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins."
And The New Living Translation translated like this:
That is why I said that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I am who I say I am, you will die in your sins."
(John 8:24)
And the Old Testament says that God used this name frequently as we read in:
"You are My witnesses," says the LORD, "And My servant whom I have chosen, That you may know and believe Me, And understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed, Nor shall there be after Me.
I, even I, am the LORD, And besides Me there is no savior.
I have declared and saved, I have proclaimed, And there was no foreign god among you; Therefore you are My witnesses," Says the LORD, "that I am God.
Indeed before the day was, I am He; And there is no one who can deliver out of My hand; I work, and who will reverse it?"
(Isaiah 43:10-13)
"I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake; And I will not remember your sins.
(Isaiah 43:25)
Jesus once again calling Himself "I am He" declared that He is the same Yahweh God who was and is and is to come."
12. "I Am" He who searches the Minds and Hearts
Only God has the capacity to search our minds and hearts and know exactly what is taking place in one’s mind and heart. We humans can not see inside the mind and heart of a person, only God can.
In 1 Kings 8:39 King Solomon prays to God, "then hear in heaven Your dwelling place, and forgive, and act, and give to everyone according to all his ways, whose heart You know (for You alone know the hearts of all the sons of men),
The psalmist says in Psalms 44:21, "Would not God search this out? For He knows the secrets of the heart."
Again in Jeremiah 17:10 God says, "I the LORD search the heart and examine the mind, to reward a man according to his conduct, according to what his deeds deserve."
When we read the New Testament we find the same qualities of God in Jesus. Jesus said in Revelation 2:23, "….and all the churches shall know that I am He who searches the minds and hearts. And I will give to each one of you according to your works."
The words of Jesus Himself make it clear that He searches our minds and hearts and there is nothing hidden from Him. Psalmist says in Psalms 38:9, "Lord, all my desire is before You; And my sighing is not hidden from You."
Again the Psalmist says in Psalms 69:5, "O God, You know my foolishness; And my sins are not hidden from You."
And the Bible says that He brings forth to light what is hidden. Job 28:11, "He dams up the streams from trickling; What is hidden he brings forth to light."
John 21:17, "He said to him the third time, "Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?" Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, "Do you love Me?" And he said to Him, "Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You." Jesus said to him, "Feed My sheep.
The statement of Peter saying in the above verse, "Lord, You know all things" makes it clearer that Jesus is all – knowing and omniscient. Bible and Quran both say that only God is omniscient or all knowing. No one else can know everything and Jesus proved His quality of foreknowledge in these passages.
12. "I Am" coming quickly
"Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown."
(Revelation 3:11)
Jesus foretold about His Second Coming while He was in this world. Yes, one day He will come back to take those home who believe in His name and those who gets forgiveness of sins.
He is going to come and judge the world. But Jesus said in John 5:24, "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life."
If you have accepted Jesus in your life, then you need not to go before the judgment seat of God as you have passed from death into life but, those who do not accept Jesus are already condemned and are going to face the judgment seat of God.
Yes, Once Jesus came to die for our sins, but now He is going to come as King of kings and Lord of lords and He will reward those who walk in His holy ways. He will wipe away all their tears. But for those who reject Him a lake of fire awaits them where they will be in torment forever and forever.
If you want to be with Him eternally in heaven, please invite Jesus into your life.
13. "I Am" the Root and offspring of David the Bright and Morning star
"I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star."
(Rev 22:16)
Jesus came from the lineage of David as prophets foretold in Isaiah 9:6-7,
"For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."
"Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this."
(Isaiah 9:6-7)
God promised David that He will establish his throne forever and He did what He promised by sending His only Son Jesus Christ who is the bright and morning star whose light never fades will be continually shining through eternity.
14. Giver of the living water
The Bible says in John 4:14, "but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life."
Also we read in Revelation 21:6, "It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts."
When Jesus was about to leave this world, He promised His disciples that He will not leave them as orphans but will send a comforter or helper for them as we read in John 14:16, "And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever;
"The Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.
"I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you."
(John 14:17-18)
After fifty days since Jesus left this world, when all the disciples and others were praying together the mighty out pouring of Holy Spirit came and filled that place (Acts 2:1-2) as promised by Prophet Joel:
"And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions. And also on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days."
(Joel 2:28-29),
Yes, He gives the living water to those who asks. It is His free gift to mankind and we are living in the last days. He is pouring His Spirit as never before. He is revealing Himself as never before. He is raising His mighty army as never before. Why not you sir? Why not you madam? You can have this wonderful experience in your own life.
