These are the questions
commonly asked by Muslims:-
Nowhere
in the Bible Jesus said, "I am God, worship me".
"Jesus
himself worshipped One God. Does God worship God?"
If Jesus
is God then, When Jesus was crucified, it means, God died
who was on the throne when
Jesus was in this world?
Jesus
himself asked God for help. Does God ask God for help? This also shows that Jesus was not
All-Mighty, whereas God is truly All-Mighty.
If Jesus
is God then why He needed to comedown to this world and give His life? He could have done
it sitting on His throne.
If Jesus
Is God, Why Does He Pray in the Gospels?
Jesus ate,
slept, drank, went to the bathroom just like other human beings. Clearly, he is a human
being - a great one - a messenger of God and a prophet, but no more than that.
Jesus was never called, "Son of God" but He was only called, "Son of
Man"
Jesus did
not die nor resurrected from the dead. If we consider that alleged resurrection took place
then why there is no evidence of resurrection?
Jesus was
not crucified himself nor was he sent to this world to die on a cross for anyone's sins!
Matthew 26:39, "He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying,
"O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I
will, but as You will." So, from the above verse you should see that this cannot be a
person who was prepared for the claimed sacrifice, rather a person who was afraid to die
like any normal human would be!
First of
all, no one witnessed him rose again. Secondly, look at his appearance after the
"alleged" resurrection. If Jesus is God then I am still wondering why no one
recognized the man who claimed to be Jesus, resurrected.
Much like
your worship of Jesus in vain, whereas Jesus himself tells you otherwise, read John 17:3,
especially the words "THE ONLY TRUE GOD, and Jesus WHOM YOU HAVE SENT", this
makes the worship of Jesus a worship of a FALSE god since there is THE ONLY TRUE GOD WHO
SENT JESUS.
As
Christians you do not respect his holy and complete adjectives and you talk about
God as
your friend as you had seen before as you live with him.
Let
us see what Jesus said about Himself: -
"For the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath." (Matthew 12:8)
"Therefore the Son of Man is also Lord of the Sabbath."(Mark 2:28)
Let
me deal every question raised by Muslims one by one.
Nowhere in the Bible Jesus said, "I am God, worship me".
Was there ever any
need for him to? Let me ask this question. Did you ever hear George W. Bush speaking about
himself.. saying, "I am the president of USA. Please respect me?" The fact is, I
never heard him saying like this but every one knows that he is the president of USA. How
do we know? Because he is the president of USA. So there is no need to say, what he is.
And the same thing is with Jesus. He need not to say, "I am God, worship me."
However many a times Jesus said that, "He is God" and that "He is the Son
of God."
Though Jesus does
not need to say that, "I am God, worship me" but still He said in many places
that He is God. And Jesus was worshipped by people, demons, angels and heavenly hosts.
Jesus was worshipped by all
1.
Jesus was worshipped by people:
Three
wise men inquired about Jesus saying, "Where is He who has been born King of the
Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him." (Matthew
2:2)
They followed the
star and they went to the place where Jesus was born and worshipped Him as we read in
Matthew 2:11, "And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with
Mary His mother, and fell down and worshipped Him. And when they had opened their
treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh."
Again we see that
when Jesus rose up from the dead and appeared before His disciples, they worshipped Him.
And He led them
out as far as Bethany, and He lifted up His hands and blessed them.
Now it came to
pass, while He blessed them, that He was parted from them and carried up into heaven.
And
they worshipped Him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy.
(Luke 24:50-52)
2. Jesus was worshipped by demons
Bible
very clearly says that demons and those who had unclean spirits worshipped Jesus. We read
in Mark 3:11, "And the unclean spirits, whenever they saw Him, fell down before Him
and cried out, saying, "You are the Son of God."
In Mark 5th
chapter we see about a demon possessed person, when he saw Jesus, he came running and
worshipped Him as we read in Mark 5:6-7
"When he saw
Jesus from afar, he ran and worshipped Him."
And he cried out
with a loud voice and said, "What have I to do with You, Jesus, Son of the Most High
God? I implore You by God that You do not torment me."
(Mark 5:6-7)
3. Jesus was worshipped by Angels and
heavenly hosts
Jesus
was worshipped by angels and heavenly hosts - Revelation 7:10, "and crying out with a
loud voice, saying,
"Salvation
belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!" All the angels stood
around the throne and the elders and the four living creatures, and fell on their faces
before the throne and worshipped God, saying: "Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom,
Thanksgiving and honor and power and might, Be to our God forever and ever. Amen."
(Revelation 7:11-12)
The Bible also
says in Revelation 5:13-14,
"And every
creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the
sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying: "Blessing and honor and glory and
power Be to Him who sits on the throne, And to the Lamb, forever and ever!"
"Then the
four living creatures said, "Amen!" And the twenty-four elders fell down and
worshipped Him who lives forever and ever."
(Revelation 5:13-14)
Now the question
arises, if Jesus is not God then why did He allow people, demons heavenly hosts and angels
to worship Him? Once Paul went to Lystra and there was a certain man sitting having no
strength in his feet, a cripple from his mother's womb, who had never walked. This man
heard Paul speaking. Paul, observing him intently and seeing that he had faith to be
healed, said with a loud voice, "Stand up straight on your feet!" And he leaped
and walked. (Acts
14:8-10)
Now when the
people saw what Paul had done, they raised their voices, saying in the Lycaonian language,
"The gods have come down to us in the likeness of men!"
And Barnabas they
called Zeus, and Paul, Hermes, because he was the chief speaker.
Then the priest of
Zeus, whose temple was in front of their city, brought oxen and garlands to the gates,
intending to sacrifice with the multitudes.
But when the
apostles Barnabas and Paul heard this, they tore their clothes and ran in among the
multitude, crying out
and saying,
"Men, why are you doing these things? We also are men with the same nature as you,
and preach to you that you should turn from these useless things to the living God, who
made the heaven, the earth, the sea, and all things that are in them,
"who in
bygone generations allowed all nations to walk in their own ways.
"Nevertheless
He did not leave Himself without witness, in that He did good, gave us rain from heaven
and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness."
And with these
sayings they could scarcely restrain the multitudes from sacrificing to them.
(Acts 14:11-18)
Paul and Barnabas
tried to desist them from worshipping them while Jesus never denied to be worshipped. And
we read another instance in Revelation 19:10, "And I fell at his feet to worship him.
But he said to me, "See that you do not do that! I am your fellow servant, and of
your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is
the spirit of prophecy."
John tried to
worship the angel but the angel said, "see that you do not do that!" and asked
him to worship God. Why? Because there is none who is worthy to be worshipped except God.
And because Jesus is God, He was worshipped by people, demons, angels and heavenly hosts.
